It doesn't matter whether you are suffering from internal or external hemorrhoids, if you have them, you are desperate to get rid of them and it may be that you can't get to the shops anytime soon, or haven't got the spare cash to splash out on fancy potions which may or may not work to cure your hemorrhoids. What are you going to do? You are going to look for hemorrhoids home treatments!
There are three relatively quick and easy ways to relieve the pain and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids (or piles):
Apply ice several times a day to the affected area. Wrap some ice cubes in a tea towel (or use a packet of frozen peas that you're not planning to eat!) and hold it against your hemorrhoids for ten minutes. Follow this up with a warm compress for another 10 or 20 minutes and you will feel an awful lot better.

- If you don't like the ice idea (and I could sympathize there) you could try warm moist heat such as a warm wet towel to the area several times a day - this is also very soothing.
- Or you could try what is called a sitz bath. Run the tub just enough to cover your backside; don't make the water too hot or it could burn you badly. Soak yourself in it for about fifteen minutes and do this several times a day.
