but it's important to know what your options are for this invasive
procedure.
There are five different surgical procedures which can remove or shrink your hemorrhoids.
Cryotherapy
This
is where your hemorrhoid is frozen with liquid nitrogen - the same
procedure as is used for wart and verruca removal. It can be extremely
painful both at the time and for sometime afterwards.
A Hemorrhoidectomy
This is where your hemorrhoid is removed surgically - cut off - and you
may well need stitches - again, this can be a very painful procedure.
Sclerotherapy
This is the use of an injected chemical to shrink your external
hemorrhoid. As you know, all too well, hemorrhoids are very sensitive
so having an injection into them isn't exactly great fun!
Rubber band ligation
This is only for external hemorrhoids. A rubber band is put around the
base of the hemorrhoid which cuts off the blood supply causing it to
shrivel up and eventually disappear.
Laser Surgery
This is probably the least painful where your internal or external hemorrhoids are fired at by lasers which destroy them.
All of these procedures involve a certain amount of embarrassment to
carry out and may well be very painful for a while. The other problem
with them is that they may get rid of your hemorrhoids for now, but
they do nothing to prevent future attacks.
Rather than taking one of these drastic measures, you would be much
better off to look for a natural solution first. A natural hemorrhoid
cure will not only solve your immediate problem but will also prevent
reoccurrence in the future.
